• 12 Tbsp Pickling Alum
• 1 tsp Cream of Tartar
• 1 cup boiling water

• 1 large purple cabbage, chopped
• 4 quarts water
• Boil for 1-1/2 hours, strain, then added water to bring total liquid to 2 quarts.

Boil fibers in dye-bath for 1 hour. Allowed fibers to cool in dye-bath, then rinsed.
